Together with SFUVET researchers, ABZ teachers developed practice-oriented learning materials and didactic scenarios for the use of immersive 360° videos in chef training. The apprentices immerse themselves in real work situations from the professional kitchen and learn the quality control of goods such as fish by directly combining theoretical knowledge with practical action steps. The integrated quiz and decision-making situations enable teachers to use the tool not only in the classroom, but also as an assessment. This closes the gap between school learning and professional practice: learning, application and testing take place in the same authentic context. The application exemplifies how research and educational practice work together to create innovative solutions that can be used directly in everyday vocational education and training.
