The Edu 3D Viewer is a VR application that enables teachers to easily integrate 3D models into their lessons.

With BeLEARN’s Edu 3D Viewer, teachers can easily incorporate 3D models into their lessons. They can either select an existing model from an online library (“repository”) or upload their own model. The Edu 3D Viewer also supports animated models. For use in the classroom, a selection of models is grouped into a lesson unit, called an “experience”. Teachers then share the compiled lesson units with their students via a code, so that they can access the models on their own devices.
Currently, the Edu 3D Viewer is designed for use with a Meta Quest 3. In a mixed reality environment, pupils can view the models, rotate them, and move freely around them. Thanks to an AI chatbot, students can learn more about the models by asking questions. For this, teachers prompt the chatbot when compiling the lesson unit to align the learning experience with their teaching objectives.
Target Groups
Teachers can tailor the content of the Edu 3D Viewer to suit their own specific needs. As a result, the Edu 3D Viewer is suitable for use at almost all school levels. For example, models are available for biology, science and technology, or art and history lessons.
Our Offer (Under Development)
The offer is currently under development. Those interested can download an initial version of the Edu 3D Viewer from the Meta Horizon Store onto their own Meta Quests. Using an online authoring tool, users can compile their desired experiences from over 30 models across various subject areas. All it takes is a simple login.
We also offer interested parties the opportunity to test the Edu 3D Viewer as part of a BeLEARN Trail or an event at the BeLEARN Hub. Upon request, BeLEARN also offers the loan of up to ten Meta Quest 3 headsets.
The AI function of the Edu 3D Viewer is currently only available in German.
Planned Developments
- Technical improvements based on feedback from practitioners, e.g. an augmented reality (AR) version and further ways to interact with the models
- Didactic preparation of selected models / experiences
